The Pacific-Rim Conference on Education is a rotating conference held on one of the partner campuses. The main purpose of this conference is to share international perspectives about new challenges in education and the implications for teacher education.
The Pacific Rim Conference on Education was initiated by President Murayama of Hokkaido University of Education, Japan. Initial discussions about the conference with Illinois State University were held in October 2005, when a presidential delegation from Hokkaido University of Education visited Illinois State University. The three partners who became part of this conference included Hokkaido University of Education (Japan), Illinois State University (U.S.A.), and Simon Fraser University (Canada). The Pacific Rim Conference on Education was thought of as a rotating conference among the three partners.
