We look forward to seeing you at the Second Pacific Rim Conference on Education later this fall (October 24-26, 2008) here at Illinois State, the oldest public university in Illinois. In addition to being a national leader in teacher and school leadership preparation, the College of Education is also engaged in international education with partners in England, Japan, Korea, Mexico, and Thailand.
The Second Pacific Rim Conference on Education will give us an opportunity to showcase the endeavors of our faculty and collaborate with our Simon Fraser and Hokkaido University partners to bring a comparative dimension to teacher and school leadership preparation globally. Please know that we are excited about the opportunity to host our international friends here on our beautiful campus.

イリノイ州立大学の教育学部からごあいさつさせて頂きます。
私たちは、来秋、10月24日から26日まで、イリノイ州で最も古い公立大学であるわがイリノイ州立大学で開きます第2回パシフィック・リム会議で、皆さまとお会いできることを楽しみにしております。
私たち教育学部は、アメリカ国内で教員の養成と学校運営者の養成においてリダー役を担うだけではなく、イギリス、日本、韓国、メキシコ、そしてタイに提携先を持って国際的な教育にも携わっております。
第2回パシフィック・リム会議では、わが教育学部の教授陣の研究と実践の成果を披露させて頂くと同時に、シモン・フラジャー大学（カナダ）と北海道教育大学（日本）の関係者と協力して、教員の養成と学校運営者の養成のそれぞれの取り組みを比較し検討して、新しい知識を生み出し世界的に広めていきたいと考えています。
