The 2nd Pacific-Rim Conference on Education is a rotating conference held at Hokkaido University of Education (Japan), Illinois State University (U.S.A.), and Simon Fraser University (Canada). This year’s conference is being held on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal, IL from October 24-26, 2008. The purpose of the conference is to share international perspectives on a variety of educational issues.
We hope that you will contribute to the conference by sharing your experience on educational issues as they relate to the conference themes. Through either lecture presentations or poster sessions, you are invited to share your perspectives on a specific topic, research study, program, or project.
Lecture presentation
Individuals will present material about a specific topic. Interaction during the presentation may include involving participants in learning activities and/or questions and answers. Sessions should be 20-40 minutes in length.Poster presentation
Each participant will be provided space for displaying a visual representation (up to 36"x48") of a research study, program, or project. Poster sessions are designed to foster maximum interaction with the audience. Attendees move through the room from presentation to presentation. Poster presentations will be 90-minutes in length.Panel discussions
Panel discussions are a coherent collection of papers or presentations organized around any topic that relates to the conference themes. Other topics that advance and enhance our knowledge base in teaching and learning in a global society will be considered. Each panel should include 3-4 presenters and a leader, and should last 90 minutes, including 20-30 minutes for audience participation.
Submit presentation proposals for the conference using this online form. Submission deadline is June 30, 2008. A selection committee will review all submissions and notify lead presenters of acceptance or non-acceptance by July 15, 2008.
